Atherton has many English teachers, Mr. Tucker being one of them. Mr. Tucker teaches IB Higher Level Junior English and Theory of Knowledge (TOK) 1 and 2. IB Higher Level English is the level above Standard Level IB English for juniors. Theory of Knowledge teaches students to analyze philosophies and learn to think like a philosopher.
Mr. Tucker has been with Atherton all 19 years of his teaching. Miss Faulls was a teacher at Atherton while Mr. Tucker was a student, and she inspired him to become an English teacher. English has always been inspirational to him, he loves the creativity of language and how literature makes him feel and think in different ways.
Outside of school Mr. Tucker enjoys collecting things, such as PEZ dispensers and rubber ducks, and also plays the guitar.
