Every school has a principle that helps to lead and manage the school, Atherton is led by Principal Dr. Fluhr, who has been with Atherton since 2021. She took over the position as principal after Dr. Aberli left.
Before starting at Atherton Dr. Fluhr was a teacher at Iroquois High School and Fern Creek High school for 8 years, and was an assistant principal at Jefferson County Traditional Middle. After her 10th year at JCTMS, she applied and interviewed for her position now. After applying she was accepted, and has since been the principal here at Atherton.
“Atherton as a school is what I call a Legacy School. It’s a school with a rich history and culture, it just really aligns with my own core values, and I also know that my skill set is in honoring the legacy of strong schools and continuing to help them excel.” says Fluhr.
Outside of school she has 3 children, who participate in baseball and soccer.
“If I’m not here, then I’m most likely at a high school baseball game or a club soccer game.”
