This will be Mrs. Eskridge’s 2nd year teaching at Atherton. She is a math teacher who teaches IB Apps and Interpretations and IB Analytics. She has been teaching for 21 years. Where was she before settling here?
The first school in JCPS that she worked at was PRP High School. Due to moving further away from the school–and having a baby on the way–PRP wasn’t a good fit for her. And so she transferred to Ballard High School.
Then, she stopped teaching for 5 years and started working as an actuarial analyst. At the same time, she was trying to finish her first master’s degree in math. But her job did not have a flexible enough schedule, so she went back to teaching. She found out that JCPS was not hiring new teachers at the time, so she got a job at Presentation High School for 4 years.
Once she left Presentation, she then got her second master’s degree in industrial engineering. She tried finding a job in the engineering field but it was very difficult, so she came back to teaching. She then worked at Western High School, which is where she graduated from.
Eventually, she decided she needed a change in environment so she started looking for a new job. Since she had student taught at Atherton she was familiar with the school, and she knew another math teacher here. She is so glad to be at Atherton. That brings us to where we are today.
