Mr. Williams is the Department Head of the Engineering Academy and one of Atherton’s primary Engineering teachers, educating mainly Aerospace Engineering students. This is his 9th year teaching at Atherton, and his 28th year of teaching throughout his entire career.
Before teaching, he served in the US Air Force for 11 years and was a US Air Force Master Instructor. Later, he taught Electronics Engineering in college for 13 years and was the Maintenance Training Coordinator at Dupont Chemicals for 2 years. After which, he joined the Atherton community in 2016.
“I chose Atherton because of its Academic reputation,” says Williams. However, he was additionally tasked by Atherton’s previous principal, Dr. Aberli, to start the Engineering Academy. Since then, it has grown from roughly 70 students to over 300.
“I have fallen in love with our student body and how they have embraced engineering. It’s been my great honor to see some of my former students go on to have great success in college and beyond,” says Williams.
He has been married for 43 years and has 2 children and 4 grandchildren. He is an ordained minister, has a 2nd degree black belt in Hapkido, and has an FCC License with a RADAR endorsement.
