Mrs. Mullennex is one of the many staff members at Atherton. Her role at Atherton is our Professional School Counselor. Her main job focuses on helping students meet their personal, social, and academic goals.
She also has other roles around school, including: Media Arts Counselor, Sophomore Class Sponsor, McKinney Vento liaison, Dual Credit Coordinator, Experience Based Work Coordinator, CTE Admin Lead, and Upperclassmen Student Activities Director (student council).
Mrs. Mullennex has been a school counselor for ten years, seven of those were with Bullitt County as a Counselor, and has been with Atherton for three. Before becoming a part of Atherton’s staff, she also taught history and psychology.
Before she became a counselor, she found herself drawn to kids in her class who seemed to be longing for a connection and for someone to help them believe in themselves. Mrs.Mullennex knew that she enjoyed teaching, but she was more drawn to something that would allow her to have a more direct impact on students.
Outside of school, Mrs. Mullennex spends time with her 3 kids. She enjoys going to the gym and gardening, but most of her time is spent with her kids.
