Mr. Klingenfus/ Mr. K has worked at Atherton for two and a half years. Mr. K is one of our Assistant principals here at Atherton. He supervises the Health Science academy and its students to make sure everything runs smoothly.
Some of his other responsibilities include teacher walkthroughs and evaluations, bus transportation, safety and supervision, and more. Mr. K is also a part of the racial equity and inclusion team which means he plans events like World Fest and monthly celebrations.
Mr. K was an English teacher at Doss High School, Jefferson County High School, Eminence independent, and Male High School. Afterwards he became a goal clarity coach at Male and then an assistant principal at Manual High School before coming to Atherton.
“ I attended University of Louisville where I got a Bachelor’s degree in English, a Masters degree in Teacher, and a specialist in education,” Mr K says.
Mr. K has lived in Indiana,Tennessee, and Alaska. He has also traveled to 15+ countries.
“ I played soccer for 10 years, was a long distance runner for 12 years, a rock climber for 12 years, a mountain biker for 20 years, and a hiker for 35 years,” Mr. K says.
