The Atherton Ravens Football team won their match against The Southern Trojans last Friday at their home game debut.
The final score was 44-0, with 35 of those points scored in the first half. Stars players included kick returner/ wide receiver Jason Briscoe (11, jersey number #5), who scored three touchdowns, two of which were punt returns. Donnee Sutton (12, #3) had 58 net rushing yards and one rushing touchdown.
The Ravens defense allowed only eleven passing yards and nine rushing yards net from Southern. Zai Von Meads (12, #99) and Donee Sutton (12, #3) both had a defensive sack. Quilshanes Baines (12, #2) had an interception.
The bleachers were packed on Friday, with all kinds of people showing up to support the Ravens.
Emmalynne Harrity (12) says she hasn’t been to many games during her time at Atherton, but since it’s her senior year she wanted to come out and support the Ravens.

“I figured I should come by and also take photos for the yearbook,” says Harrity.
Atherton’s home game debut was the first game Layne Hernandez (11) came out to this season.
“It’s always great coming out to football games, like home games, because we usually whoop the other team,” Hernandez says.

DuPont Manuel student Lily Berfield (12) enjoys supporting the Ravens even if they’re not her own school’s team.
“There’s one football player (Gage Wells) who used to be in my latin class, but he switched,” Berfield says.
Senior Class President and Student Section Leader Wesley Buchanan (12) says the student action was full of energy, and hopes that level of enthusiasm carries across the season.
“My biggest hope is that we beat Manuel and get the biggest student section we’ve ever had,” says Buchanan.

The Ravens take on the Manual Crimsons at home this Friday at 7:00 pm. Come out and support our Ravens!
