Ping Pong Club has started every Thursday from 2:20 to 3:20 in the cafeteria hallway!
In Ping Pong Club, people will learn the rules of ping pong, such as doubles or proper serves. Club-members will play normal games such as singles or doubles. Creative games will also be played like “Around the World,” where players go around the table in a circle hitting the ball, with 3 misses being allowed. Members will get a chance to participate in a few tournaments, where they will be able to showcase what they’ve learned.

Physics teacher Kevin Smith offered to take over the ping pong club in 2012, and has a meeting once a week.
“It’s fun to come out here and play games with students,” said Smith.
Students are allowed to show up whenever available. The club has all different levels of experience.
“It’s not a sport you have to be really good at to enjoy. Sometimes it’s competitive, and other times fun. It’s pretty laid back. It’s a good way to relax,” Smith noted.
Will Craigo’snell (11) joined the Ping Pong Club freshman year when friends invited him to a meeting.

“I’ve made friends playing ping pong. It’s fun,” Craigo’snell commented.

Cy’yanna Acklin (12) joined the club this year. Acklin had played ping pong casually with family before, but wished to learn more about the rules. From her first month in the club, she has been able to meet new people.
“It’s a good source of cardio, and a fun time all together. I like that you can have a lot of fun and laugh and giggle with friends. And then you can learn the rules and how to play better,” said Acklin.
