Soccer Recap: Week 9/8-9/12

The Atherton varsity soccer team played three games of the week 9/8-9/12. The Ravens went against Waggener on 9/8, Moore on 9/10, and Nelson County on 9/11.

Atherton Ravens won an intense game against the Waggener Wildcats with a score of 1-0. Before halftime, neither team had scored, keeping the score at 0-0. With the last 20 minutes of the game, Admir Kulhancic (11, #10) hammered the ball into the net, making the Ravens win.

The Moore Mustangs triumphed over the Atherton Ravens ending with a score of 5-0. Before halftime, Moore was up by 2 points. Once the game was over, Moore Mustangs secured their win with a final score of 5-0.

The Ravens made a comeback after a defeat with Moore. Ravens scored two points making a successful win against the Nelson County Cardinals.

The Atherton Ravens play on Monday 15th against the Brown Bears and Tuesday 16th against the KCD Bearcats. Make sure to come out and support the Atherton Ravens!

Abbygail Milburn,(12) is excited to be working on the Aerial this school year! Milburn is a co-editor for the Aerial and is looking forward to photographing sports, writing articles, and revising stories. Milburn is the Editor-In-Chief for the yearbook and has completed the media arts graphic design pathway. Milburn also has a passion for sports photography with her favorite being softball and baseball because of all the angles you can achieve of the players sliding to base. Outside of school, Abby is president of service to service, likes to read, and enjoys sports photography. She also has 2 german shepherds, Hades and Zena. After high school, she plans to pursue journalism and get a minor in marketing.
