Janinaba Jah, JJ (11), balances a busy school life with a strong connection to her close-knit family, which includes her parents and four siblings.
Driven by a growing passion for photography, JJ found her place in the Media Arts Academy, where she continues to explore her creative interests. JJ’s also deeply involved in school life. Serving as Treasurer for the Junior Slate and actively participating in clubs such as Y-Chapter, Environmental Club, and Beta Club.
Whether she’s leading in the classroom or engaging in extracurriculars, JJ loves to stay involved. Outside of school, she enjoys unwinding to music from her favorite artists, such as SZA, Kendrick Lamar, Drake, and Olivia Rodrigo.
This year, JJ is diving into journalism through the Aerial to explore whether it’s a path she might want to pursue beyond high school.
