Thanksgiving is coming up this year on November 27th. It is a time of year for gathering, being thankful, and enjoying delicious foods. Many students here at Atherton are very excited and shared their plans for this year’s festivities.
Ethan Holtsclaw (12) is spending the holiday with his extended family from New York, showing them the sights of Louisville.
“We’re going to have a nice day together showing them around the city, probably going to the zoo and then we are gonna have a meal,”
Holtsclaw said. “My family is vegetarian, so it’s gonna be a mix of like my family’s food and the food people are bringing in. It’s gonna

be nice. I haven’t seen them in a long time.”
Despite the changes in food, Holtsclaw still loves all the dishes made, his favorite being stuffing and pecan pie. He also enjoys watching the parade each year with his mom and sister.
“I’m most thankful for my friends and figuring things out over the past few years. It’s been really nice finding my place and I’m happy that people are still here for me,” Holtsclaw said.
Noa Chottiner (10) is also excited to enjoy a nice family Thanksgiving dinner at her house.

“We stay at my house and sometimes watch the Charlie Brown Thanksgiving Special,” Chottiner said. “I really like eating pumpkin pie, I think it is my favorite, especially with whipped cream.”
Chottiner is most thankful this year for family, friends, and that she is able to get an education.
Elijah Gorman (12) is extending his Thanksgiving by hanging out with his girlfriend, family, and friends.
“I’m hanging out with my girlfriend and her family, then the weekend after Thanksgiving I’m going to Owensboro to hang out with my

best friend and his family,” Gorman said.
Gorman has a unique and fun tradition for Thanksgiving, which consists of going to church the day before, and then having a giant dinner. Afterwards they play in a family basketball tournament.
“I am most thankful for all of my new friends, this new school, and the new opportunities that have to come,” Gorman said.
