A behind-the-scenes tour of Media Pro’s while they covered the Festival of Faith turned into a side quest of being interviewed by Governor Andy Beshear.
November 14th was a big day. An opportunity was presented through the Academies of Louisville Business partner, Jay Smith. Six students took advantage of the chance to see how a media agency called Media Pros covered the Festival of Faith. In the same way, students covered the Good Business Summit, just on a bigger scale.
“I didn’t know what the Festival of Faith was. When we got there, it was a whole bunch of different cultures performing and telling people about their cultures,” Eli Gorman (12) said.
“My favorite part was getting to talk to Andy about his children. He has a daughter, a son, and a dog. His son and I play the same sport and positions, along with us being around the same ages, we connect on a few levels,” Eli Gorman (12) said. “He treated us like family.”
It was a surprise visit to the studio where the Andy Beshear podcast is recorded. Gov. Beshear took his time to interview the students. They were also featured. The team was able to interview Beshear with personal questions to get to know Kentucky’s governor better.

“I was just so excited to meet him, I was also in shock because I had never met anyone famous before or someone that high in a government position, so it was an honor,” Bella Meranda (11) said.
Taking every chance is really important. You’ll never know where it might lead. To watch the video: Andy Beshear Podcast.
