As the calendar is soon to flip to a new year, students are setting their New Year’s resolutions. Many around Atherton are focused on improving themselves into well-balanced beings with hearts full of love.
Countless students expressed a common theme of personal growth and reaching full potential.
“I want to keep getting more confident and making more memories by surrounding myself with people I love,”Kendall Walton (12) said.
Ava Keen (11) shared her similar goal of growing into a stronger version of herself.
“I want to set self boundaries because I think it will help me improve as a person,” Keen said.
Confidently going into the new year is key for setting yourself up for success. Similar to self love, students know that they need to surround themselves with love to reach their full potential.
“I want to cut all the negativity out of my life so I can get up, and go,” Halen Russ (12) said. “Negativity can take a big hold on your life,” Russ added. “I want to evolve and be better.”
Macie Starnes (12), likewise emphasizes spreading positivity.
“I want to be the best person I can to my wonderful friends by loving everybody that is around me and being the best version of myself possible,” Starnes said.
Students are aware of what will put a positive impact on their life, and many know exactly what they need to do this year.
“My resolution is to start running again. I used to run and my body always felt so much better,” Jamasyn Maione (11) said. “It was a good way for my mind to have an escape,” Maione added.
As students are preparing to step into a new era of their lives, their resolutions reflect a shared hope of self love and productivity. This Friday, students will walk around Atherton for the last time in 2025 and return with a hope of revitalizing a new version of themselves.
