As Spring approaches and the flowers begin to bloom, students are ready for their week-long rest. Spring break is a very important time for many kids to decompress before the end of the school year. Students look ahead at their Spring break plans and express how they plan to relax.
Zaylie Barber (11) is looking forward to a productive break.
“I’m going to California to look at colleges. I’m looking at Pomona, which is just outside of LA, and I’m looking at Occidental, which is

in LA,”said Barber.
Barber is excited to have some free time to plan for her future, and believes it is the perfect time to do so.
“As a junior, I think spring break is important because it’s kind of a prime opportunity to look at colleges and also get such nice warmer weather,” said Barber.
Leyla Taylor (12) also has plans to stay productive, while also mixing in time for the beach.
“I’m going with the softball team to Destin, Florida, and we’re playing down there all four or five days. We’re gonna play in the morning time, then we’re gonna have some activities like going to the beach and visiting places nearby,” said Taylor.

As a senior, Taylor is looking forward to the small break before she finishes out her year and graduates.
“We’re getting towards the end of the year. It’s getting harder to come to school. I think that break is just something that helps us feel relieved and want to finish off the year strong to graduate,” said Taylor.
Lucien Reid (12) also has plans to go to Florida, and is ready for the warm weather on the beach.
“I’m traveling with some friends to go to Panama City Beach and visit his big brother and stay for about five days. We’ll do a full day road trip. I might go play some local golf courses, definitely go to the beach, hang out at the house, and walk around,” said Reid.
Reid believes that breaks are very important for students.

“I think spring break is important because it gives us the opportunity to just kind of relax before the end of the school year and take a break from important stuff you might still have to do or teachers might assign. I think it’s important, just in general, to have good, long breaks in between school because school can be overbearing at times,” Reid said.
Spring break continuously proves to be beneficial to many students, and is a great time to have some stress free fun before the end of the year.
