This cold, sunny Wednesday marked the official start to the outdoor track season. The track team gathered at Eastern Highschool for a scrimmage that would give members an opportunity to get into the flow of racing. The team ran many events including the 1600m, 800m, 400m, and 100m to showcase what they have been practicing on the main stage.
Many individuals on the team have goals they are working hard to achieve this season.
“Team wise, I really wish for us to go to state in the four by one,” said Nitayvis Short (11).
With a new period of the track season starting, many students see this as a chance to spend time with new friends in the sun.

“It is my senior year and I thought I should get out more, so I might as well join the team,” said Mariah Peterson (12). “At practice I like having somebody to warm up and run with because it makes me feel like I’m not isolated in this individual sport.”
