Mr. Wesley is the Youth Service Center Coordinator here at Atherton, a role he has proudly held for about a month. He has been with JCPS for about 5 years and continues to leave a positive impact no matter what he does.
Wesley grew up in Louisville and attended Shawnee High School in his teen years. After graduating, he went on to attend Kentucky State University, where he earned his masters degree in business administration. During his time at KSU, He was a student athlete where he played 4 years of college football.
Prior to coming to Atherton, Wesley worked at his alma mater, Shawnee High School, for 2 years as one of their security guards. This is Wesley’s second year being a part of the Atherton family. He started as our Home School Coordinator, and through his dedication and positive impact, he transitioned into his current role, the Youth Service Center Coordinator this year.
In addition to his administration role, Wesley is deeply involved in the athletics here at Atherton. He serves as one of the coaches for the football team and also coaches the girls basketball team. His involvement in these 2 sports helps him connect with students on a personal level.
Outside of school, Wesley is a devoted father, who loves spending time with his daughter. In his free time, he enjoys playing video games and watching sports. His devotion to the students at Atherton makes him approachable to students. He loves being a mentor and a “big brother” for the students here at Atherton. Wesley’s favorite thing about his job is being able to help students.
A word of advice he has for his students is, “Be the best you can be, don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t do anything, whatever you put your mind to, you are able to do.” Mr. Wesley continues to inspire students everyday, and shows how you can do anything with hard work.
