The Atherton Service to Service club spent Tuesday completing community service projects for the upcoming holidays. One group wrapped winter hats & gloves that will be donated to homeless individuals at downtown Louisville’s Hope Village. A second group packed 15 shoeboxes with toys and personal hygiene items for the Good Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child program. (These gifts will be transported to children in Africa in December.) A third group of students assembled gift bags with puzzles, playing cards, and various games. Each bag also contained a personalized Christmas card to veterans who are hospitalized at the Veterans Medical Center on Zorn Avenue.
The club, led by Ms Tammy, would like to personally thank their fellow students at Atherton High School who purchase items at their Not Your Average Bake Sales. “Your generosity enables the club to provide community service efforts like these to deserving people in the Louisville area and around the world,” said Bradshaw. “Together we ALL make a difference in the lives of others as Servant Leaders.”
