As the football season comes to an end, there is a lot to celebrate. Head coach Anthony White led the Ravens to their best record yet, 12-2, and the furthest this team has ever made it. White and his Ravens won the district championship, something he has been chasing for 3 years now, always coming up short.
This Ravens team has cemented themselves into history. Previously, our best season outside of coach White was all the way back 2007 White turned this program around like no other coach has been able to. After beating the Purples 49 to 21, White beat his achilles heel, finally making it to the district championship game.
Even though the Ravens lost the next week 17 – 0 in Pulaski County, this season was nothing to scoff at. Our running back Du Zye Grundy (12) won player of the year, and new breakout star Jason Briscoe took over the field on both sides of the ball.
This season will forever be remembered in history. Going from a 0-10 record every season for almost 30 years straight to almost making it to Kroger Field is a huge accomplishment for this team and a good sign for the future.
