3D printed hall passes are a new feature that have been made here at Atherton thanks to Mr. Williams. With the holidays around the corner, he wanted to spread some cheer around the school. Using our engineering students’ skills, teachers have been delighted with their gifts.
Gabriel Garcia Reyes (11), has been helping make our teachers their new hallpasses.
“Im really happy it’s actually getting used, it’s really nice seeing them all around in school,” Said Garcia.
Although tedious, 3D printing has always been one of his hobbies.
“Outside of being a hobby, it’s also really nice in industrial settings. You can quickly prototype stuff you need, and then make it in a different solid material. For our purposes, we can make small trinkets and different objects that we can use to experiment with designs,” Garcia said.
3D printing is one of the engineering pathways staple features that is used for assignments, personal fun, and to help others.

Jon Manuel Feria Perez (12), is a student in the engineering pathway who has been 3D printing this year in his engineering class.
“Its fun being able to make whatever, whenever you want, and make a lot more than you normally could requiring less time and material cost,” said Feria Perez.
As you see and use the new hallpasses, think about our wonderful engineering students who made them!
